2017 is another important year in the development of superfast broadband services across the UK. As the phase 1 and 2 projects complete to deliver the 95% coverage target by the end of the year, the phase 3 procurements are also taking place.
This is an important opportunity for INCA members, and we think it is important that local authorities have an opportunity to discuss their requirements with the independent sector before they go out to formal procurement to allow for open discussion.
INCA is working with BDUK to run a series of engagement sessions as the projects finalise their requirements and expectations. This event in partnership with the Welsh Government is at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on April 6 to discuss the superfast broadband needs for Wales.
INCA members interested in this procurement opportunity are encouraged to attend, and sponsorship opportunities are available for members who want to promote their capabilities in this area.
This event is one of a series of Public Sector Supplier Engagement Events for 2017, organised by INCA working with BDUK, designed to help local government engage more easily and informally with the independent sector.
These events are free to attend.
By Road: Cardiff's location on the M4 corridor makes it easily accessible by car and is within two hours drive of London and the East Midlands. From the M4, take the A48 to city centre. There is no car parking at the stadium itself but there is plenty of parking available in the city centre itself, the closest being the NCP Car Park in Westgate Street (opposite the main entrance gate to the stadium).
By Rail: The nearest train station is Cardiff Central. This is approximately five minutes walk from the stadium. You should be able to see the stadium upon exiting the station, with sign posts also showing visitors the way. Cardiff Central operates several main line routes to and from London, Birmingham, Manchester, South West England and West Wales.
When arriving from Cardiff Central you should head to the Wood Street / Westgate Street junction - Gate 3 is about 250 yards ahead of you at the main entrance to the Stadium.
Note that registration for this event closes at noon on Monday 3 April. After that point please contact Gill Williams with any equiries.
