Shaping the Next WFTMR

Registration is now closed for this event

Ofcom’s five yearly review of the telecoms market - successor to the 2021 the Wholesale Fixed Telecoms Market Review - will start soon.

The next WFTMR will set out the conditions under which the market operates including whether there should be separate geographic markets, product markets, where Significant Market Power exists and therefore what, if any, remedies will be imposed. Coming into effect from 2026 it will create the regulatory framework for the market until 2031.

Although 2026-2031 seems a long way ahead, Ofcom’s work will start in the next 2-3 months with an anticipated consultation on their findings early next year. It is vitally important that altnets feed into this process to ensure our significance in the market and our concerns about the way the market operates are properly taken account of.

This webinar is open to all INCA members and will highlight the key characteristics of the market review, Ofcom’s likely process and what INCA is proposing we do collectively to share the burden of gathering evidence to present to the Ofcom team.

Speakers will include Tim Stranack, INCA Chair and co-founder of Community Fibre, Alex Blowers, Director of Regulatory Affairs at CityFibre, Gita Sorensen, GOS Consulting, regulatory advisor to INCA and Oliver Helm, founder and board member of Full Fibre Ltd.

The webinar will run on Zoom. Registered participants will be provided with details of the call.

Registration is free of charge to INCA member representatives.
